Peace Pledge (Every Monday)

Making peace must start within us.  Each one of us, members of ADLS Sunshine School, commit ourselves as best we can to become nonviolent and peace loving people, to Respect Self and Others, to Communicate Better, to Listen and Plan, to Forgive, to be Courageous, to Challenge life whenever we encounter it, and not lose hope.

This is our pledge.

We shall check ourselves on what we have pledged on the 1st day of the week so that we can help each other become more peace loving and help ourselves and our fellow beings to live life fully.

Passing in all subjects is compulsory.
Passing in S.U.P.W. is vital for promotion for all classes.
Std. XI obtaining 60% in 3 subjects is necessary for promotion apart from English.

For Class XII-S.U.P.W. grade will be awarded based on the co-curricular activities a student takes part in, attendance & different projects a student completes on being assigned to them.

EXAMINATION : Nur. to Std. V – 2 mid terms followed by Half Yearly and 2 mid terms followed by Final term.

Std. VI to IX & XI will have three terminal exams (mid term – 20 marks & terminal –
80 marks}.
Std X & XII (Board Students)

The school conducts MCQ Examination for Std. III to Std. XII in English language and Mathematics.

Students absent from any examination will not be allowed to answer a retest.
Do not send a child for tests and examinations if he/she is not well. The child will not be able to do well in this condition and it may be unsafe for the other children too.

If a parent takes the ward back after a Test/Examination, the marks awarded for that examination shall not be considered valid.
MERIT CARDS : Merit Cards are awarded to students on the basis of academic performance.
Nursery to Std.5 – 1st commendation card 75% and above in all subjects and 2nd commendation card 65% and above in all subjects.

Std.6 to Std.12 – 1st commendation card 70% and above in all subjects and 2nd commendation card 60% and above in all subjects.

MARKS & GRADE : Marks are given for academics from UKG to Std. XII and colour code for Nursery & LKG. Grades are given for personality development and activities.

Admission in Entry level (Nursery) is done on the basis of Lottery System as per the RTE Act. For other classes (LKG to Std.9 & Std.11) admission is granted after the student qualifies in the entrance tests.

No admission is complete (except the Kindergarten stage) until the Transfer Certificate and Progress Card from the school attended previously are produced.

A month’s notice or a month’s fee is required prior to the withdrawal of a student.

If a student is withdrawn for any length of time and parents wish to re-admit him/her, the registration fee will be charged again and the entrance test will be re-administered.

A written advance information (a week), must be made by the parent or guardian for the Transfer certificate of a student. If intimation is not given, a month’s fee + Rs. 50/- each for any other certificates will be charged.

An attested copy of the Birth Certificate must be submitted to the school office during admission. Original birth certificate is to be shown to the Principal. The Date of Birth once recorded during admission will not be changed.

It is essential for all BPL students to produce Red Card at the time of issue of forms and caste certificate for ST, SC & OBC students.

If a student’s behavior is detrimental to the other students & the atmosphere of the school, the Principal has a right to remove the student from the rolls of the class.

90% attendance is required for the students in order to appear for any school examination.

Any absence from school even for a day without prior permission of the principal must be explained by the parents in the Absence Record.

If the leave is for more than 2 days, an explanation letter addressed to the Principal should be submitted before the leave availed.

Continuous absence for 15 days or more without permission will be considered equivalent to the withdrawal of the student from the school and name will be struck off the rolls.

Every student must be present on the re-opening day of the school after Summer, Puja and Winter Vacation.

To be eligible for marks in a test a student should be present for the full day after the test.

A student joining School after an infectious or contagious disease should produce all medical reports certified by the hospital or nursing home with a seal/stamp and a prescription with the name of medicine prescribed by the doctor.

Every student is expected to be present in the school 10 minutes before the assembly bell failing which he/she will have to go back home. Being late to school 3 times in a month the child will get a failed report card and more than three times will lead to suspension from the school.

Students are expected to follow all School regulations. Failing which very strict action will be taken.

1.   All students are expected to behave politely with the teachers.

2.   The cleanliness, discipline and decor of the school is a direct responsibility of the students.

3.   Students are expected to take keen interest in all school activities.

4.   WILLFUL DAMAGE TO THE SCHOOL PROPERTY IS AN OFFENCE & PUNISHABLE BY EITHER FINE, SUSPENSION OR EXPULSION.

5.   Students must not come to school in geared vehicle except bi-cycle or ungeared vehicle.

6.  Std. XI/XII students are not allowed to bring  vehicles without prior permission from the Principal & without valid license & helmet.

7.  Students are not permitted to eat from hawkers around school gate.

8.  Students must remember the following prohibition, failing which will be considered a punishable offence and heavy penalty:

Writing on walls, desks/benches, carrying knives and any other dangerous instruments, carrying own story books, comics, magazines, cassettes etc., cycling within school premises, leave the school without Principal’s permission bringing narcotic or any alcoholic drinks.

9.   Since the mode of instruction is English, it is compulsory for all the students to speak in English within the school premises.

10.  If a student feels sick or gets hurt, the school will give First Aid & inform the parent through the telephone. In such cases, a contact phone no. is very essential which the parent should enter the right & accurate telephone No. in the diary.

11.  Students at any cost will not be allowed to leave the school during the school hours. In case of an emergency, the parent should personally meet the Principal or send a letter of authorisation with the escort.
