Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

On 14th November, 2014 (Friday) Children’s Day, our school joined hands with honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s initiative of SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN. The school decided to venture in to the initiative on Children’s Day, because we feel the children are the agents of change and can help in spreading the message of clean city, green city and ultimately clean India. The entire school is a part of this month long initiative. Each and every child has contributed by making an attractive newspaper bags. The objectives behind this drive are as follows:
  • No plastic bags and be eco-friendly.
  • Instill the importance of health and hygiene.
  • Promote awareness in making Jamshedpur, the Steel City, a greener city provided we are able to keep it clean.
We identified four locations in Jamshedpur for distribution of news paper bags:
  • On 14th November 2014 – Basant Talkies to Jhanda Chowk where the maximum numbers of vendors are there. The scout and Guides were part of this drive. They were accompanied with the Scout and Guide Teachers and the other Staff members of the school. They made placards with attractive cleanliness slogans. They not only gave the bags to street vendors but also distributed paper bags to commuters, shop owners like Agarwal Book Stores, Sreeleathers, Bhola Maharaj where they requested them to use paper bags instead of plastic bags and they also went to Sakchi Bazar Master Office with the request of more use of newspaper bags.
  • On 22nd November 2014 – Mango Bus stand
  • On 6th December 2014 – Sakchi vegetable market
  • On 11th December 2014 – Jubliee park
