ADLS SUNSHINE SCHOOL
WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY – 10th September, 2016
Our school observed World Suicide Prevention Day on 10th September through a set of events to promote awareness among our students and the parents on this burning issue affecting so many lives in our city almost every day. The Guest of honour for the day was Ms. Gurpreet Bhatia (In charge, School outreach programme, Jeevan) and Prof. Durga Dutt Pathak (Management Consultant and Mentor)

National Anthem – 01 minute (11:52am- 11:53 am)
The Programme began with the welcome address followed with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The students were addressed and motivated by the inspirational words of Prof. Durga Dutt Pathak. Prof. Pathak is an alumnus of XLRI, Jamshedpur. He has worked with Tata Steel for 37 years and while working he obtained his law degree. He has toured Europe and South West Asia on Motor cycle and climbed up to Everest base camp. Presently he is associated with organizations on consultancy assignments. Quiz was conducted for the students of Std. X and XII to check their concentration level and how well they could perform under stress as they are the examining batch and are under a lot of pressure. A short film on failure made by the students of Std. XII was presented before the students so that they can realize the true value of life and how to overcome failure and defeatism.
The ADLS Sunshine school students took a peace pledge and also initiated a tradition of planting a sapling to show how life is precious and should be taken care of. The programme was conducted by safe club and interact club of the school.
